On 14 January 2026, the Law Society Council of Brunei Darussalam for the 2026–2027 term paid a courtesy call on Chief Justice Dato Seri Paduka Steven Chong.
The delegation was led by President of the Law Society Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Ahmad Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa. Members of the Judiciary as well as members of the Law Society Council were also present during the visit.
During the courtesy call, the newly elected Council was formally introduced to the Chief Justice, and discussions were held on various matters of mutual interest relating to the legal profession.
The Law Society Council members for the 2026–2027 term are On Hung Zheng (Vice President), Natasha Chong Mei Shi (Secretary), Navrita Kaur (Treasurer), Ahmad Basuni Haji Abbas, Pengiran Izad-Ryan PLKDR Pengiran Haji Bahrin, Abdul Muqtadir Haji Suhaimei, Abdul Hakim Ahmad Zakaria, Juanita DP Haji Jemat, Kimberly Faye Chiuh Mei, Haji Muhammad Zainidi Haji Abdul Hamid (Immediate Past President), Hajah Norhijradini Haji Saidi (Attorney General’s Representative) and Karen Tan Chai Mei.
