IN LINE with giving full professional support to the efforts of the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to diversify and promote businesses, industries and small and medium enterprises (SME) in the country, the Law Society of Brunei Darussalam reminded business institutions, conglomerates within Brunei Darussalam as well as foreign investors to engage competent professional advocates and solicitors issued with valid practicing certificates from the Office of the Chief Registrar, Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam.
The Law Society highlighted that only those issued with valid practicing certificates are eligible to practice, advise and act on behalf of parties pertaining to the application of the laws of Brunei Darussalam.
The Law Society noted that although common and foreign laws may intertwine with the laws of Brunei Darussalam, it is prudent for parties to engage advocates and solicitors with valid practicing certificates.
