On 19 September 2026, the Vice President of the Law Society of Brunei Darussalam, On Hung Zheng, and council member, Awang Abdul Muqtadir bin Awang Haji Suhaimei, attended the 2026 International Legal Practice Conference – Cooperating with ASEAN (ILPC) and the 2026 ASEAN Foreign-Related Legal Services Exhibition held in Nanning, Guangxi, China.
They participated and presented in the sub-forum on “Strengthening Brunei: Economic and Trade Services and Legal Matchmaking”, as well as signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (“MoC”) between Guangxi Lawyers Association and Law Society of Brunei Darussalam to:
- Maintain a dialogue and mutual exchange of information about our respective legal systems and assist with research on legal issues when necessary.
- Hold legal conferences, seminars, and webinars on mutual interests and present papers if and when appropriate.
- Assist with reciprocal visits and provide information on opportunities for training to the law firms of each organisation and exchange experience.
- Promote the communication and cooperation between parties actively and expand the interactions of members between the parties.
- Explore ways to develop and promote business opportunities between the members of each party.
