The Law Society of Brunei was invited and had the honour of attending the Opening of the Legal Year 2026 of Sabah and Sarawak, held in Kota Kinabalu from 15 to 16 January 2026. The ceremony marked the commencement of the new legal year and was attended by members of the judiciary, legal practitioners, and distinguished guests, including representatives from other jurisdictions.
The Opening of the Legal Year concluded with a gala night featuring a jazz soirée theme, offering attendees the opportunity to network in a relaxed setting. The events provided a valuable platform to strengthen regional ties and engage with counterparts within the legal fraternity of Sabah and Sarawak.
