The Law Society of Brunei was invited and had the honour of attending the Opening of the Legal Year 2026 of Hong Kong from 18 to 19 January 2026. The ceremony marked the commencement of the new legal year and was attended by members of the judiciary, legal practitioners, and distinguished guests, including representatives from other jurisdictions.
The Secretary for Justice, Mr Paul Lam SC gave an address at the Ceremonial Opening. The programme included a Presidents’ Roundtable and visits to the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong SAR, and the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal.
